Frequently asked questions.

FAQ/ T&C’s

As well as answers to common questions, many of these are also our Terms and Conditions so please read carefully prior to ordering. Here are the most common questions I could think of however if something is not covered then please feel free to send me an email with your question.

How long will my helmet take to arrive?

DIY KITS

A full DIY helmet kit including all parts takes around 60 hours to print. We like to dispatch within approximately 1-2 weeks. However, depending on high demand or mechanical failures, waiting times may take up to 6 weeks so please be patient with us while we get the bets quality for your print.

FINISHED HELMETS

A finished helmet takes around 60 hours to print and around 5 days to assemble, post process (lots of filling and sanding by hand), paint and finish. However, we are almost always working on multiple helmets at once and printing DIY Kit orders at the same time. We also don’t like to rush and prefer to take our time so we can give whatever we’re working on our full attention. This means a helmet takes approx. 8 weeks from sdate of ordering.

How can a helmet be out of stock?

It can’t! We can print an infinite number of DIY kits however, the nature of 3D printing is not a fast process having on average 60 hours of printing per helmet. We will mark certain items out of stock if we have a backlog of orders to catch up on. Also, finished helmets take a great deal of hours and energy so we tend to work on these in batches and we may also take these down completely from time to time to recuperate and do Limited runs only. Whatever is on stock is available! If you would like something specific or brand new, drop us an email.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes! Shipping rates are calculated at the checkout. All shipping rates are usually stated on the product listing itself, however - Shipping rates can vary faster than we can updated a products listing so please double check the cost at the checkout prior to purchasing.

How long does it take to ship my order?

Digital 3D files are instant Download direct from this website and available 5 days after.

Raw 3D printed DIY kits are 1-6 weeks

Finished props are usually 1-2 months turnaround

We are not Amazon, there is no next day delivery here. 3D printing itself unfortunately is a very slow process and prop building takes time and creativity. Sometimes and most often things can and do ship much sooner, this is all dependant on our volume of orders and work schedule. We thank you for your patience and understanding in advance.

We will email you once your order has been dispatched.

UK - We post by Royal Mail Special Delivery, tracked and insured or EVRi Next day, 1-2 working days.

EUROPE - Royal Mail International, tracked and insured or EVRi 3-5 days.

USA/CANADA - Royal Mail International, tracked and insured 4-11 days.

Worldwide - US - Royal Mail International, tracked and insured 4-11 days.

Can you make me something for a specific date?

Yes, if you get in touch in plenty of time. 3D printing itself is a very slow process and prop building takes time and creativity. Please state upon ordering if your item is for a specific date or better still, get in touch with us prior to ordering to check our workload and time frames and we will happily let you know if we think its possible.

DIY Kits are approx 1-6 weeks turnaround so please allow yourself the time for the item to ship and for you to finish it and Finished props are approx 1-2 months turnaround so if your item is for a con or a specific event or holiday, please allow yourself and us plenty of time in advance to produce it. We cannot guarantee anything as print failures can and do happen often as well as things like paint reactions when building props but we will do our best to get an item produced and shipped to you in a timely manner if this is communicated to us prior.

Some parts were damaged in shipping what now?

Dang! Although we take great care to get your items to you in perfect condition, we cannot control angry posties around the world! Please email me and I will arrange replacements to be sent out asap. As a small business, depending on your item this can be pending postal insurance being issued for us to reproduce the item and we apologise if you have a poor shipping experience. We use the most trusted couriers are damage is very rare.

Do you sell finished helmets?

Yes I do! It is a bit more of an exclusive service. As using 3D prints to make finished helmets is a very loveable but time consuming process, I may take this feature down from time to time. I may also move into more efficient production options in the future like helmet casting and vacuum forming. If the option is there on the site, it means I’m open!

Do you do Refunds?

No. All items (3D files, DIY kits and Finished Props) are none refundable. As both with raw 3D printed kits and finished hand made props we order in the materials to produce your item upon receiving your order. Finished props are all hand made and so take a great deal of time, energy and physical work and so are understandably there are no refunds for 3D printed DIY Kits or Finished props. If your item is damaged upon arrival we will gladly replace it. All items are sent tracked and fully insured. As a small business, depending on your item your replacement may be pending receiving postal insurance reimbursement to us so we can re-produce your item. Please send clear photographic evidence of the damage including images of the box and packing material before throwing it away as they often require this to jedhaworkshop@gmail.com Please note, we are not in control of postal or postal insurance services, from experience and depending on the courier claims can take a long time and we apologise in advance for any poor ship[ping experience or damage caused to your item and any time taken to resolve the issue. We will always do our best to insure the item reaches you in perfect condition and rectify any issues.

3D Files

Are the files pre split of whole?

They are whole. I sometimes also provide them split. Everyones printers are different sizes so I provide whole models for you to cut in the way that suits you and your printer model. This is easily done, I use a free program called ‘Meshmixer’ and I have a free video showing you how to use it Here.

Are the files 1:1 scale?

Yes. I design them around my own head which is a fairly small/average 56cm circumference (measured at the brow). I usually design with some extra room for larger headed people as the standard seems to be 60cm circumference both here in th Uk and the US. Models can be scaled up or down in your slicer. I would always recommend cutting a thin section of the helmet at its tightest point and doing a sizing test print to make sure before doing a full print.

Will they fit on my printer?

Yes… but they may need cutting into parts first. Even when I can fit an entire helmet on a printer, I will still usually cut the model into three parts, print seperately and glue it back together to avoid any print failures and wasted filament.

Do you design your own files?

Yes. I do all the reasearch and leg work ascertaining what is accurate and what is not in relation to the original screen used props. I then draw up detailed instructions and I work with some genius 3D modellers to create the files to my specifications. And as they will probably tell you - I’m an OCD Micro managing nut! I like things to be aesthetically beautiful, accurate as well as printer and build friendly to make all stages as efficient as possible as I myself will be building them. I’m basically completely autistic and an artist.

Why haven’t you replied to my email?

Apologies! I’m only human and will get to it!
