Here is the giant hot dog herself. At 6 miles long, the Red Dwarf is a city sized spaceship built by the Jupiter Mining Company housing our band of merry men - Lister, Cat, Rimmer and Kryton, oh and lets not forget Holly. Nothing wrong with dog's milk. Full of goodness, full of vitamins, full of marrowbone jelly. Lasts longer than any other milk, dog's milk.
It is completely 3D printed with wooden dowel support rods, sanded and smoothed, hand painted and weathered.

In order to make the CGI Model 3D printable, firstly we cut the ship up into smaller sections, hollowed out the centre to reduce print time, filament wastage and reduce weight and we added 3 x thread holes for wooden dowel to add strength and join all the parts together. We then took all the tiny detail elements that were in some areas just a micron thin and beefed them up to roughly 5mm thickness.
The very thin front cone or ‘ramscoop’ and the rear engines join with magnets to help with transportation.
SIZING
This model is approx 87cm long by 20cm wide.
MATERIAL
Printed in PLA, an environmentally friendly plastic made from fermented plant starch and typically derived from corn, sugarcane, or cassava.
HOW LONG?
Lead time is currently 2 months. 3D printing is a slow process (approx 180 hours for this ship!) and we never rush our printers for the best quality. Prepping and smoothing 3D prints also takes a lot of man hours and painting and finishing requires patience and creativity so we thank you in advance for your patience while we build your model!

AVOID
As PLA has a low melting point which is how we are able to 3D print with it, keep model away from intense sunlight or heat as the structure can warp if exposed for lengthy periods.
