The Narcisse mask is worn by one of the illusive attendees at the secret ritual in Stanley Kubrick’s 1999 psychological thriller Eyes Wide Shut. This striking terracotta-coloured face features a furrowed brow, hollow eyes and an almost square, open mouth, giving it a distinctly pained expression — and making it the only mask in the film to feature such.
Interestingly, it’s also earned the nickname the “Donald Trump” mask, thanks to its uncanny resemblance to the US president — some people don’t see it, but it is painted orange! The wearer is prominently featured in the front row of the gathering, fuelling years of conspiracy theories about the identities (and meanings) of the masked attendees. And if it is ‘the Donald’, then ‘Narcisse’ is perhaps a fairly apt name!
Whoever it is, we’ve recreated the mask in exquisite detail — and now you can print your very own piece of this unusual cinematic mystery! Perfect for collectors, film enthusiasts and anyone fascinated by the mysterious world of Eyes Wide Shut.
