Cults scare me, ever since watching Race with the Devil (1975) as a kid. In this increasingly terrifying real world of of ours full of elite networks and global conspiracy theories actually coming true, the existence of secret societies is even more worrying. Perhaps one of the most succinct portrayals of this is Eyes Wide Shut (1999). Directed by Stanley Kubrick and based upon the 1926 novella Dream Story (German: Traumnovelle) by Austrian writer Arthur Schnitzler.
It was Kubricks last ever film and he died at age 70, just days after submitting the final cut of the film and indeed before it’s release, which due to the subject matter of the film has sparked countless debates and conspiracy theories ever since.
Regardless of it’s cult status for these reasons, the film itself is masterfully shot, edited, written, acted and lit. Yes even the lighting and background props are a key plot devices and almost characters in and of themselves.
In honour of the films perfection, I set out to produce the most faithful version of the mask.
The mask comes with the crystal jewels already set in if you want to paint them, or completely separate if you want to add your own, as well as the jewels themselves being a printable part that you could do in clear tinted resin.
Printed at 100% scale the mask fits a head of 60cm circumference.
Due to the high quality of the model (almost 200,000,000 triangles) and Squarespaces file size limit of 300MB, you will recieve a PDF with a link to download your files from our G drive file vault.
